Tehran's intention was (and still is) NOT TO complete building an atomic bomb but to actually USE it as a deterrent against Israel and/or US while attempting to "erase Israel from the map" by its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas, possibly supported by genuinely Iranian forces. At the same time the Iranian bomb serves as a bait to provoke Israel and the US so Iranian leaders will be able to say that it's Israel and the US who are going to attack "peaceful" Iran.

Yes, it's OK for Israel to have more than one. The reason is pretty simple: Israel did not and does not declare or try to destroy any other state.
For the very same reason it's OK for a peaceful law-abiding citizen to have a gun for self-defense but it's not OK to allow violent murderers openly declaring that they're going to kill and rape others to carry guns, too.
