Since normallysilent negged this comment, I guess that it's safe to assume that he/she is simply all for "defending" a country, regardless of what the hell they did to get them into the situation to begin with. By all means, let's jump into the fire even if they're 100% in the wrong about what they do... like, let's see... suppose they start just murdering women and children in the streets of Jerusalem for practice before sending murder squads to Iraq to do the same thing? I'M FOR IT BY GOD, LET'S DEFEND ISRAEL!!

What the hell makes either of these morons (they being Rice and normallysilent) think Israel wants or needs our help? Hello? Moron alert!

It's not a question of choice, brother...

Can the U.S. financially survive a war between Iran and Israel, in your opinion?

You should realize that Israel does not have strategic bombers, aircraft carriers and millions of troops. Israel's means to defend itself from an Iranian attack are pretty limited. Israel has excellent air force of fighter-bombers. It has missiles capable of launching satellites into space meaning that these missiles can deliver their payload to any point on Earth. In addition, it is widely believed that Israel has hundreds of thermonuclear devices.

Considering all that I'll repeat my question:

Can the U.S. financially survive a war between Iran and Israel, in your opinion?

This is just rhetoric and PR to justify U.S. presence in the region and an attempt to pursuade pubic opinion to support continued occuaption, so that the corporate dictators who are profiting from the war and oil speculation can continue to do so.
