The Federal Reserve will issue new rules next week aimed at protecting future homebuyers from dubious lending practices, its most sweeping response to a housing crisis that has propelled foreclosures to record highs.

    Oh, now that the banks have given out loans to all those which couldn't afford to pay them back and have had to foreclose on 30% of the homes out there, now we are going to make it even more difficult for someone to get back into one of them.

    That sounds like a very wise thing to do? Does this seem a little bass ackwards to anyone else?

    I would think that this is the situation where creative ways should be found to get people back into some of those homes.
