Any country with $70 billion in oil revenues should be able to have power and electricity.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Their infastructure sucked badly under Saddam, who didn't much give a damn about the people as a whole so long as his palaces were lit up.

libsRfunny, I think you might have missed the sentence in the article stating that in the 1991 War the Electricity Grid was targeted. After the war, daily bombing went on until the Iraqi War Invasion on March 21, 2003.

It is correct to state that before the 1991 Gulf war that Iraqis had power not seen since then.

The Infrastructure could not be repaired because of the sanctions and the daily bombings, plus the Grid and Water sources were prime targets again, and of course after the Invasion in March 2003, supposedly the U S paid Contractors got Billions to repair the Electricity. The Contractors have been paid. Where is the electricity?

Repoerts say it was never Re-built, but friends of Bush and Cheney ( Contractors ) got their money anyway.

Is this Administration ready to hold hearings on what happened to those Billions?

I did read a report questioning the orders to target the Electricity and water, because of the health problems it would cause the population.

I should add that the report was sent up stream before the invasion, after some of the Field Commanders looked over the battle Plan.

Living conditions in Iraq have been horrible since the invasion. It's hard to win the hearts and minds of the population when they have no electricity or running water.

Why not some American "HYPOCRITE" media interview these ordinary Iraqis and ask them if they had any power shortage or gas shortage at pumps under Sadam?.

Instead, all we see and hear are the people called the "Government of Iraq" who are stuffed enough by corrupt US Government with borrowed money from China, just to say what they are asked to say.

Progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. It depends on who you talk to.

          Quotes:

"Any country with $70 billion in oil revenues should be able to have power and electricity. What's wrong with this picture?

"Their infastructure sucked badly under Saddam, who didn't much give a damn about the people as a whole so long as his palaces were lit up.".

"MAYBE THE IRAQIS COULD BUY SOME WITH THIER OIL MONEY???"

Wonderful quotes from people who represent the country which invaded, destroyed and occupies their country? Are you not responsible for the problems? You still occupy their land, control their airspace, control their oil fields, control their government, patrol their streets and provide security.

So you went there to improve their lives that they did not enjoy under Sadam.

There is definitely something wrong with this picture?
