"Tehran "is not going to be quiet," if attacked, Nozari told reporters. It's "going to react fiercely, and nobody can imagine what would be the reaction of Iran," he added.

"Over the weekend, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that Tehran would respond to an attack by barraging Israel with missiles and could seize control of a key oil passageway in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz."

"But a senior U.S. military commander said Wednesday that Washington would not allow that to happen."

STONERS- "But a senior U.S. military commander said Wednesday that Washington would not allow that to happen."

I read the above line and had to laugh, The war with Iraq has dragged on forever and that was a war that was fought against a country who had not fully recovered from the MIstake of invading Kuwait, Iran might not be a world power but it would be determined in its actions and might have the support of another of the worlds superpowers. It always scares me when politicians or military leaders bang the drums of war, they are like the coaches of a sporting team, it's nice to think your the best but the outcome of the game can never be guaranteed.

The Iranian government's rhetoric grows more shrill and senseless the more unstable Ahmadinejad's position grows...not a coicidence. As internal opposition to his rule grows, he feels a greater need to point to an external threat from the U.S. to galvanize support for his government and focus dissent externally.

I think this is a pretty reasonable response from any country if they're attacked, actually... I seem to remember Bush telling us that he would attack any country on Earth where there were terrorists... of course, he hasn't attacked Saudi Arabia, Israel, Spain, England, France, Colombia, the Philippines, Timor, Japan or Germany yet....

And what the hell, we attacked Iraq totally unprovoked...

Why do we even listen to Iran, shut up already. Just go back to what your good at. Suppressing women, exterminating homosexuals, spreading hate. You know, the usual.

Idiot, we are not listening to Iran, we are listening to the carefully edited war propaganda from the hard right american war mongering media, the mouth piece for the military, controlled by evangelical zionists christian crucader warmongers, who are inturn sworn to follow orders from the commander in chief, himself controlled by the big money oil and zionist handlers.

The racism and hatred for the tribe of Iranians says to me, you have not ever met an Iranian, and I work with several. They are not as you decribe, and your are a bigot, and a racist brainwashed moron.

What you are getting from the biased zionist american media, is what the AIPAC and media owners allow to be published.

Why can't you see behind the curtain, to who is pulling your strings. Did you learn nothing from the lies created by neocon zionists to invade Iraq, which had nothing to do with 911?

The feud with Iran goes back to 1970's. For those Yankees who are poor in history, here is a refresher course:

. The Emperor, Shah of Iran ran a police state until he had to run from the country when the Iranian people could no longer take his tyranny. Anyone who spoke against the Shah was not seen again. People of influence who want to change the course of the country had to leave and go in to exile.

. However, for the champion of freedom, democracy & human rights this tyrant was good as he sold oil at under $20 a barrel.

. The Iranians wanted the Shah to be tried for crimes against his own people, looting the country and taking millions of dollars in to swiss bank accounts.

. US gave him safe haven and found a puppet South American country to give him refuge.

. He was ultimately admitted to the US for medical treatment.

. Under no circumstances, US would hand over Shah to Iranian people, which resulted in hostage crisis.

So, Iran is an evil empire!!!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA

Perhaps if we go back just a little further and everything suddenly becomes much more clear. The CIA put the Shah of Iran in power much the way we put Kazai in power in Afganistan and Allwi in power in Iraq . And yes this evil man, the Shah of Iran, was a dictator and guilty of crimes against his own people, looting the country and taking millions of dollars to swiss bank accounts.

The hostage taking was blowback for the CIA's evil deeds and Ronald Reagan made weapons deals with the Iranians to hold the hostages until after the election against Carter in order to assure the GOP presidency.

The really unfortunate thing is that the US has surrendered the power to make its own important decisions regarding war and peace. A preemptive Israeli air strike against Iran's nuclear facilities would almost certainly be followed by an Iranian attempt to close the Straits at Hormuz, which would force the US to take direct military action against Iran. Thus, the decision as to whether the US will take military action against the Islamic Republic will not be made in Washington, but in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

It is dangerous to entrust such decisions to foreign governments, who are likely to put their own interests first, and subordinate the well-being of the American people to those interests.

Is Israel beholden to foreign energy sources? Strategically, they may be in a position to choose a path because the long term outcome is different for them. Our long term outcome may be quite different.

I am not advocating that is the path that Israel should follow, only noting as you have, that the US has different risks. Another important reason to remove our reliance on foreign energy source.

There is NO DIFFERENCE between Israel attacking Iran, or USA attacking iran. Usreal is one entity. One nation, under the star of David. Who do you think dreamed up the Iraq invasion? Who is Liberman loyal to? Who is vetting the news stories about the war? Who is controlling the message? Follow the money.

More fear to drive up Oil prices , getting tired of using Nigeria as excuse now Iran is new catalysis for Oil prices the Commodity Traders will use .

We are afraid , raise the price of Oil , makes sense . Thousands out of jobs and more to follow , raise the price of gas because the price rose .

Bush and Republicans will be the first in power to have done:

. invade, destroy and occupy a country.

. invade a wrong country to fight terrorists in another.

. start a third war to bomb a country on "suspicion".

You know, this guy here blowing smoke about how "fierce" the Iranian army is reminds me of a slightly drunk guy in a bar bragging about how big his schlong is. Chances are in either case impotence is involved. As long as Iran - or anyone else for that matter - CANNOT interdict the bombers, they are screwed. That's just the truth, not a judgment of right vs wrong. It doesn't matter in the slightest how large or how "fierce" their army is if we can bomb them to shreds at will. One of the reasons we absolutely MUST get our as*es into space in a much bigger way. THAT'S the real high ground.

Its important to realize that the statement was carefully chosen by the news provider to provoke a response. We are not reporting the terrorist raids, funded and trained and weaponed by american tax dollars by Cheney, into Iran which Iran has been screaming about now for 3 years. 3 years of terrorist raids with american trained terrorists into Iran, from the border region with Iraq, from a usa defined terrorist group, funded by cheney and the US congress, to provoke a heated responce, to use as justification for Bombing the sh*t out of Iran, and not just one bomb, thousands to destroy radar, anti aircraft, personell, and thousands more to get to underground bunkers.

Yes, bravado in the face of extermination is insane, I'm not defending Iran, just be sure you aren't buying racist zionist vetting of news information.
