In what sounds like a really low-budget horror film, voracious swarming ants that apparently arrived in Texas aboard a cargo ship are invading homes and yards across the Houston area, shorting out electrical boxes and messing up computers.

    The ants â;; formally known as "paratrenicha species near pubens" â;; have spread to five Houston-area counties since they were first spotted in Texas in 2002.

      Well, the Fire ants also get into the electrical systems and short them out! I have to sprinkle Fire ant powder around my A/C unit and aerobic system. They shorted out my A/C unit one time and it costs me $50 bucks to find that out.

      Atleast the new ants eat the Fire ants.
