Posted By ybdogsct 5 months ago in NewsPeter King (R-NY) slammed fellow Republicans for pressuring Vito Fossella (R-NY) to resign amid revelations of a drunken-driving arrest and secret love child. Fossella admitted to an affair and a 3yo daughter with the woman. Fossella was arrested on drunken driving charges after running a red light on the way to her home.

FTA:
"He's entitled to an interval of decency without having this constant pressure coming from his own party," King said of his friend charged with drunken driving in a Virginia suburb.
HOWEVER, Democrats are never entitled to the same interval of decency. These cons need to stop thinking anything they do is ok. I know Spitzer was dealing with prostitutes, but adultry is adultry.

LIBS:
"Well, he is in New York where that kind of thing seems to be a political past time lol. Should the new NY gov also resign after admitting his philandering?"
At least David Paterson and his wife both consented and knew of these affairs during the rough patch in their marriage.
Shouldn't David Vitter (R-LA) be forced out of office for confessing to hiring prostitutes from the DC madam--the EXACT crime for which Elliott Spitzer was forced out of office? Instead, he was greeted by the GOP WITH APPLAUSE.

"Louisiana Sen. David Vitter returned to the Capitol Tuesday, apologizing privately to GOP colleagues but refusing to take reporters' questions about the sex scandal. In a private weekly luncheon for Republican senators in the Capitol, Vitter briefly spoke and received a round of applause audible outside the room."
Your partisan hypocrisy is astounding.

I loved this quote:
"King said Republicans "who are supposed to be his friends" should be giving the Staten Island-Brooklyn Republican "the time and opportunity to make that decision" -- whether to resign, to serve out his term but leave afterward or to stay in office and seek another term -- "himself."
--What King means is that the "liberal media" needs more time to manufacture another "controversy" about Barack Obama potent enough to shove Fossella out of the headlines for a couple of weeks (much like the Wright story did for Spitzer--albeit a little too late for him, unfortunately), and give him time to cry and bite his lower lip on cue on camera and announce he's going into rehab.

DEFIANT VITO: I CAN CHEAT AND RUN
Defying disgusted constituents and Republican leaders, disgraced Rep. Vito Fossella has told pals he plans to seek re-election.
And, shockingly, the he is feeling "pretty good" despite the public pounding he's taking over his double life, he confided to friends. He even expressed shock that other Republicans are eyeing his seat. "What's this all about?" Fossella asked Guy Molinari, Fossella's political mentor, of news reports naming potential GOP candidates. He said he was "surprised" and "puzzled" that party colleagues are being mentioned as possible replacements.
Those close to Fossella continue to support him. "Vito is surprised and emboldened by the support he's been getting. He's gotten a lot of encouragement," said Molinari. "I told him nobody is going to run a primary against him if you decide to run again."

Yet Bill was a national disgrace for gettina BJ?
Yeah OK. Cons mean con men. Lets try this, kick him out of office. For conduct unbecoming a representative of the United States. Drunk driving. Affair. No class. No anything except concern for himself. Typical con.

Yep ... the Republicans impeached Clinton for lying about sex.
And bloggers like aniokly continue to portray Clinton as so immoral.
But when a Republican participates in 'immoral' behavior, its no big deal ...
Hypocrites ...

Hehe...I think some people forget how tenacious the GOP is where the Clintons are concerned. Even if the DNA evidence had been cleaned up, sooner or later Ken Starr, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Larry Craig, David Vitter and the wingjob media would've cooked up some other phony scandal. We'd hear all about how Monica's dry cleaner's 8 year-old son's best friend was baptized at a church that was next door to a concert hall where Bin Laden's niece once sang an Arabic version of God Bless America. Can't you just see the Washington Times front pages for weeks on end? "Lewinsky Loosely Linked to Dry Cleaner Linked to Al Qaeda" or "Clinton Administration Neglected to do Background Search on 8 year-old 'Terrorist' Sympathizer: Impeachment Hearings to Begin Monday." ;-P

So let me see if I understand....Spitzer(NY-D) gets caught with a prostitute and faces criminal charges (hasn't been charged OR convicted of ANYTHING) and within MINUTES his friends, family, Republican AND Democrats start screaming for his resignation because he's broken the LAW and his actions are inconsistent with the VALUES of those he was elected to serve. Who RESIGNS within days of this becoming public.
Then you have Larry Craig(ID-R) who pleads GUILTY to a crime, where his actions are inconsistent with the platform of his party and his constituents and nearly a year later is still in office.
And now, Fossella(NY-R) faces criminal charges, admits to an affair AND a child resulting FROM that affair and King said Republicans "who are supposed to be his friends" should be giving him "the time and opportunity to make that decision" whether to resign, to serve out his term but leave afterward or to stay in office and seek another term "himself.

Or Spitzer's replacement, who admitted to extramarital affairs and Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who ruined the lived of two police officers investigating him in order to cover up his sexual relatoins with his Chief of Staff or U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow whose hubby admitted to paying for a young prostitute.
You also have Barney Frank with the gay male prostitution ring and Gary Studds who was nailing teenage boys.
Yes, the wheel just goes round and round, but you can put your blinders on and pretend it's only Republicans getting caught with their pants down. You boneheads might have noticed the story says Republicans are pressuring the guy to leave office.

It is all about power and it doesn't look any different from either side of the political fence.
If you desire true change in the system and those that run it, fine. If you support the status quo, then you are contributing to the problem.
You either must accept both sides exhibiting this behavior or you must condemn both sides for the behavior.
I really could care less what goes on in their private lives. I am concerned about how the government is being run in their public lives. Unfortunately, neither side has what I would even call a passing grade.
We, the voting public, must demand better from our elected officials. We are continuing to support those that would not even rate a *does not meet expectations* evaluation.

I've seen the accusation that Barney Frank ran a gay male prostitution ring repeated again and again by conservs on propeller, but I've never seen any of you back it up with any evidence. If he did so, it would have been a crime; so why wasn't he prosecuted? Can you provide evidence or is it more big lie technique?

"You also have Barney Frank with the gay male prostitution ring and Gary Studds who was nailing teenage boys."
--You're such a total lying bigot, libsr. Do you think you're being clever when you pretend you don't know the difference between being accused of a crime and being tried and convicted? What does "Barney Frank with" the prostitution ring mean, precisely? Please explain what crimes Barney Frank and Gerry Studds committed and were convicted of. Exactly... Don't bother. You CAN'T because you know you're lying. You're LYING as usual because that's the only way wingjobs can gain an advantage--through lies, theft, and deception.
This is why America has been utterly turned into a toilet over the last 8 years. Cons absolutely cannot be trusted--they lie and thieve with such ease and abandon and then pretend that anyone skeptical of their "successes" is paranoid or biased.

The party of family values, for sure.
Foley, Vitter, Craig, Fossella. One resigned in shame, another cried and continues in Congress, Next one thinks he did nothing wrong and continues in Congress and the last one is being shielded from going in to oblivion.
On the Democrats side, John McGreevy resigned the same day he declared he was a Gay. Elliot Spitzer quit with or without pressure.
Republican hypocrites lead by John McCain who want to lead the country for the next 4 years, hang in there.
