Stoners: What's your problem with more drilling? We know where the oil is and we're the best, most efficient drillers in the world.

Why not tap more domestic oil rather than use our fertile farm land to grow fuel? We're not ready for non-food ethanol yet.

Regarding SUV's: If you were a young mother who had to strap your babies in the back seat several times a week, you would want a vehicle high enough so that you didn't have to lean over to do it.

lol... I really hope you aren't seriously suggesting something like drilling ANWR so baby machines don't have to bend over quite so often...

I do think simon is right about the American oil industry's ability to drill. They have historically cleaned up the messes they have made and done minimal damage to our environment from what I can see. Therefore, I don't have any problem with them drilling anywhere.

I do agree with your comment on the SUV's though. I have one that is now 5 years old. It will soon be a relic of the past if we don't solve our energy problems and fast. That we should provide cheap gas so someone can conveniently keep from exerting a little of their own energy is ludicrous. You were right on target about bending over, and so have a lot of others been on the same target, which is the main reason we are in the mess today to begin with.

We made the mess with stupid legislation.

Which legislation would that be? Are you suggesting the oil industry should be turned loose to do as it wishes with the natural resources of the US?
