  Great. One more off the street. The basic problem is that he will receive a prison term and likely serve it and be out to do it again. It is very rare for these people to quit.

  Why should they quit they hardly ever get a sentence that keeps them in jail for more than a couple of years. It's not uncommon here in the US for them to get suspended sentences and community service.

  I have often wondered why judges and prosecutors seem to let these people off with just a slap on the wrist, is it because many of them share the same perverted proclivity?

    Ask the people who make the laws regarding prison sentences. The state legislatures.
