March 16, 1984, Beirut, Lebanon. Hizballah kidnapped William Buckley, a political officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. Buckley was supposed to be exchanged for prisoners. However when the transaction failed to take place, he was reportedly transported to Iran. Although his body was never found, the U.S. administration declared the American diplomat dead.

Shimon Mizrachi, 53, from Bat Hefer and Eli Wasserman, 51, from Alfei Menashe, were pronounced dead at the scene by Magen David Adom personnel.

Wasserman is to be laid to rest at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Netanya cemetery, while Mizrachi was buried in Alfei Menashe on Friday.

Military sources said the gunman came from Tulkarm and opened fire at the security guards as they were screening workers entering the industrial zone that straddles the Trans-Israel Highway (Route 6), just across from Tulkarm. He then fled back to Tulkarm.

The names the victims of the shooting attack were released Friday morning.

Police confirmed Friday morning that the Palestinian terrorist who opened fire at central Jerusalem's Mercaz Harav Yeshiva late Thursday night, killing eight students and wounding 11 others, carried a blue Israeli identity card and came from east Jerusalem.

Speaking to Israel Radio, Police Operations Department commander Asst.-Cmdr. Yoram Ohayon said that the attacker was from the village of Jabil Mukaba, near east Talpiyot. He said police were checking whether the gunman had accomplices and how he made his way to the yeshiva.

In another part of the exhibit, visitors looked through dark windows to see mannequins dressed as suicide bombers. Each had Islam's holy book, the Quran, in one hand, and an automatic rifle in the other.

The exhibit also includes a large rock in front of a mannequin wearing the black hat, black jacket and black trousers typically worn by ultra-Orthodox Jews. A recording from inside the rock calls out: "O believer, there is a Jewish man behind me. Come and kill him."

First, Arab terrorists DELIBERATELY kill Israeli civilians while the Israelis try to avoid civilian casualties.

Second, the reason Arab civilians are killed is the fact that these civilians are being used as shields by militants.

Third, apparently, you believe that the Palestinian terrorists are being recruited from the Martian population and NOT from the local Palestinian Arabs. This, however, is not the case.

Fourth, as long as the Palestinians and their democatically elected leadership is willing the war against Israel to continue it means that they're happy with the results. It also means that the number of Palestinians killed is not high enough (yet) to make the majority of the Palestinians who are still alive to ask for peace.

It would be wrong to try to use this history to determine "who is right," though many "histories" have certainly been written by partisans of either side, with precisely that purpose in mind. Those who are interested in advocacy, in collecting "points" for their side, cannot find the truth except by accident. If they find it, and it is inconvenient, they will bury it again. Nov 27, 2001 - Noam Gozovsky, 23, of Moshav Ramat Zvi, and Michal Mor, 25, of Afula were killed when two Palestinian terrorists from the Jenin area opened fire with Kalashnikov assault rifles on a crowd of people near the central bus station in Afula. Police officers and a reserve soldier confronted them, killing the terrorists in the ensuing firefight. Another 50 people were injured, 10 of them moderately to seriously. Fatah and the Islamic Jihad claimed joint responsibility.

Sept 9, 2001 - Ya'akov Hatzav, 42, of Hamra in the Jordan Valley, the driver, and Sima Franko, 24, of Beit She'an, a kindergarten teacher, were killed in a shooting attack 300 meters south of the Adam Junction in the Jordan Valley. A minibus transporting teachers to the regional school was attacked by Palestinian terrorists.

... To sustain that mentality and to preserve an impression of victimhood among outsiders, Israel must breed conditions for violence. July 13, 2001 - Yehezkel (Hezi) Mualem, 49, father of four from Kiryat Arba, was shot and killed between Kiryat Arba and Hebron while protesting a shooting attack in the area the previous day.

Many who wish to hide the immorality of the Israeli state do so by restricting attention to the horrors of the post-1967 occupation and talking about a two-state solution, since endorsing a Palestinian state implicitly endorses the ideology behind a Jewish one.
