In the US, we have a major heroin problem. We put the people away who use it, sell it, and smuggle it. in the country where it is made, we do nothing but go after the profiteers. The farmers and the manufacturers are let alone, by policy. So, the Afghan farmers growing the poppy for heroin are treated better than the addicts using it in our own

Well, what will the CIA finance themselves with? The incentive to get rid of the Taliban is control of the opium... there's no oil, but there's more to war than oil.
