News – Al-Qaida has rebuilt some of its pre-Sept. 11 capabilities from remote hiding places in Pakistan, leading to a jump in attacks last year in that country and neighboring Afghanistan, the Bush administration said Wednesday.
this report comes from the state dept.
the GAO report went even further in its criticism of the bush admin and its (non) efforts to combat al qaeda in Pakistan.

while everyone is talking about rev. wright, al qaeda is plotting. let's keep our eye on the ball.
Bush says "WE ARE WINNING IN IRAQ" after thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women & children have been bombed, almost a million displaced from their homes and estimated 2 million have fled to Syria as refugees.
Those Iraqi's who are left standing have no electricity, no water, no sanitation, no schools, and no shops they used to get food before.
They have nothing to live for except the puppet fat cats called the Iraqi Government who are getting pockets stuffed by the State Department for saying and doing what they are told to do.
Compare this to the pathetic situation in USA. People are busy watching THE AMERICAN IDOL, DANCING WITH THE STARS, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, GOSSIP GIRLS etc. while their homes are being foreclosed, struggling to fill up their cars, falling behind mortgage and credit card debt and FINALLY getting handout from China of $300 - $600 to stay.
If John McCain is leading are tied with other candidates, there is no other country with dumb voters like USA.

Now here's a real issue!
Bush has given Pakistan and Bin Ladin a free pass (not to mention Munir Ahmad Khan - engineer who sold nuke knowhow worldwide). Pakistan has been harboring terrorists since the beginning.
Relations with pakistan are very sensitive, but to spend a trillion dollars on the war on terror but not even engage the biggest hotbed is fiscally and morally stupid.
