"spot checks" on ferries provoke outrage in San Juan Islands

News – A couple of months ago, the U.S. Border Patrol began occasional "spot checks" of every vehicle and passenger arriving in Anacortes off state ferries, the lifeline between these islands and the mainland.

I find it hilarious, in a sad sort of way, that ten people have voted for this story... particularly since Aidenag apparently made a mistake. This story has nothing to do with spot checks, the words "Anacortes" and "San Juans" never appears in the article, which is about the deputy director of the ferry department quitting after eleven years and moving on to a new job!

Geeze guys!

Oops, you are correct. Though im not sure if it was me or the Seattletimes that did it. I've had this happen with their site in the past, where they screwed up a url, and then fixed it after the fact. redirecting the old to the new.

Either way, fixed now.
