The British tourism industry makes a fortune from Her Majesty and all the pomp and circumstance. Who doesn't love a "Royal" parade or a monarch's palace?

She's also a great lady, who seldom puts a foot wrong (no pun intended), unlike her offspring and spouse.

If I remember some ancient English history, HMM, I think her great grandmother(?) Queen Victoria was on the throne longer than 56 years. I think she reached over 60 years; there was a "diamond jubilee" celebration. Other than that, I don't think there's another to touch her record.

What an admirably neutral story, STONERS. Good one.

The Queen of England is 82, and doesn't look much older than 60. Her Mother was over 100years old, so QE2 may have a few more years to reign.

Poor Charles will be an elderly king indeed.
