Propeller Week In Review: March 28, 2008

News – The U.S. death toll in Iraq was the hottest topic of conversation this last week. But the Propeller community also sounded off on John McCain, middle-class woes, and the cloak-and-dagger mischief over at the passport office.

Good one James. And it was nice mentioning "Amazing Grace" and other tunes to lighten things up a little and was a pleasant sharing:)

Thanks, glad you liked it. I wish I could have included one of my favorite performances of "Amazing Grace"--the Holmes Brothers do a hair-raising version on their "Jubilation" CD--but the one clip I found on YouTube didn't represent them at their best. Great band, though.

There's so many. But I just thought it was nice ending on an upbeat note to finish things off. Maybe something to think about?have a good one.

my cynical self would of liked the review better if it had included the last comment i made about the new ag's list of things not to investigate ,which was THE WH DESTROYED THE HARD DRIVES they announced that last sat and my cynical self believes the passport "announcement" was just to take focus off the obstruction of justice that destroying those hard drives proves

unless i am getting the current admins 'illegal but not criminal behavior" out of order

its hard to keep track

Well James did suggest a 178 page book review maybe this week.

opps yet another for the list of WILL NOT INVESTIGATE BY CURRENT AG

In conversations we had with Bobby Kennedy, Jr., in the ensuing months after our initial report, we'd explained to him what Singer had done, and --- literally overnight --- he had set the attorneys at his firm, and that of his radio co-host, attorney Mike Papantonio's firm, to work on Singer's case. It was soon thereafter filed in federal district court, as we reported at the time, in July of 2006. It has been under seal for nearly two years since that time, waiting for the DoJ, which had asked for extension after extension, to determine whether it wished to join the suit or not.

This week, the DoJ finally declined to join the case, which may now move forward with the attorneys who originally brought the complaint, including Papantonio's firm, Kennedy's firm, and attorneys in Colorado where the case was filed.

A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO ALPHAGNOSIS AND THE ENTIRE PROPELLER COMMUNITY

During the week in a very weak attempt to be funny, I posted an implied slur about AlphaGnosis. She took offense and RIGHTFULLY SO.

While we are sometimes (most times) of opposing view points, she has never took a shot at me personally or really been anything short of respectful.

Alpha I apologize for the comment and subsequent comments and to the people that gave me a positive, I also apologize for dragging you down to the level to which I had stooped.

Sincerely

Will1313

Pretty telling that the top story was about AMERICAN deaths in Iraq. Pretty much shows the quality of our democracy and why the rest of the world pays ever less attention to what we say and think.

Thursday: 225 Iraqis, 1 US Soldier, 3 US Contractors Killed; 538 Iraqis Wounded

http://www.antiwar.com/updates/?articleid=12591

Wednesday: 2 GIs, 1 British Soldier, 76 Iraqis Killed; 367 Iraqis Wounded

It reminds of of how, in the past, the news would report something like "574 people died in a horrific mid-air collision over Paris today. No Americans were on board."

...and then move onto another story as if the other 574 people didn't matter.

Interesting synopsis, as usual. I enjoy your week in review articles, here is an "atta boy" for you, JamesMarcus!! Great job! (You any relation to Stanley, or the Neimans??)

avatar

Thanks, CA. As for the Neimans, no relation, although I have lots of family in Texas.

I did not know you were related to Bush.

Uh, not in Crawford.

Another first-rate week in review, JamesMarcus, I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to break out the thesaurus if I don't want to repeat my laudatory comments. Could you please do a sort of "phone-it-in" job next week, just to take the heat off? ;)

Sure, I'll slop my way through the next one, maybe even include some wild inaccuracies. Why? Because at Propeller, the customer is always right :).

Glad you enjoyed it, of course.

I too enjoyed your week in review as always...... as I believe ALMOST EVERYONE does who actually participates....

Hey, dudes and dudettes, since our beloved whaz-his-a$$ seems to like this outsourcing, what say we vote to outsource Bush and Cheney? War? The Republican party? Texas? Everyone in our prisons doing ten-to-life? Any suggestions??? Peace

Propeller admins,

well done fixing the site. it has been running much smoother. you always hear from us when stuff isn't going well, I thought I'd take a moment to pay a deserved compliment. I know how difficult managing these boards can be.

thanks.

p.s. a permanent thread were members can offer feedback, suggestions would be helpful to you and cathartic to members.

Thanks, truthiness. We know the site is still running way below optimum speed, but we've been trying to improve things between now and the launch of our redesign, and it's great to hear that our efforts are helping--at least a little. On the new site, there will be multiple areas where members can offer feedback, blow off steam, and generally congregate.
