"We believe that the only opportunity left for Iraq to be saved from a dark, but not inevitable future, is to engage the international community represented by the United Nations," the letter said. "Such a step will allow the American troops to leave and the occupation to be brought to its end."

Ron Paul said the same thing during the Republican debate. Humm. Maybe someone was listening while others laughed and smirked. Since there is no Military solution it's about time the political avenue was explored.

"...engage the international community represented by the United Nations..."

The same UN that has failed at every turn. Yeah, that'll work just great lol

The one quarter of poll respondents who said 5000 were actually closer to being correct. Almost 4000 military personnel have died in Iraq in addition to more than 1000 contract employees (read mercenaries).

...."help U.S. troops leave the beleaguered country......"

Are they insane? There's billions, maybe trillions more in profits to be milked from this war. And since it's BORROWED money, tacked on to the national debt, Repukes can't be accused of Tax and spend like those damn Dems. Bush gave away the treasury surplus to the richest Americans, busted the bank, and has the Feds just keep on printing more money to cover his "lights."

Pay as you go? Hell no! People might not be so in favor of Bushie's war if they were feeling the pinch. And hey, you're getting another big tax rebate!

Remember....If you find yourself in the bottom of a hole, by all means, KEEP DIGGING !

And remember. Whatever horrible results come from Bushtapo policies, it's ALL Clinton's fault. If he hadn't created that budget surplus, Dumbya would never have squandered it, now would he.

Poor Iraqis.

They don't realize the UN is stacked with Rockefellar appointees and Harrimanites loyal to Poppy Bush.

THEY were the ones dividing Iraq like a pie BEFORE 911!

The Iraqis are screwed.
