News – Sen. Barack Obama captured the Wyoming Democratic caucuses Saturday, seizing a bit of momentum in the close, hard-fought race with rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for the party's presidential nomination.
I'm actually surprised the election wasn't closer. After all, Rush Limbaugh did ask Republicans in Texas and Ohio to vote for Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries of those states ...because he wants to sit back and watch the Democrats "bloody each other up." (Oh, how patriotic Rush is!)
You'd think the Republicans of Wyoming would've fallen right in line. Perhaps the only reason they didn't is because they had already cast their vote for Mitt Romney in the Republican primary back on January 5th (Wyoming is one of a handful of states that have separate dates for their Republican and Democratic primaries).
Who knows? Maybe they just don't want the Clintons vacationing in Jackson Hole again...
SO you guys really think all Republicans tune in to Rush? And when they do they sit and await their marching orders? Hehehe, you guys always fall for the talking points of the left. Besides, if I remember correctly, I didn't hear any of you guys being mad about Dems crossing party lines and Tweaking the Republicans.
Look. I have Republicans in my family, both "enlightened" and those who are not.
The difference is that the "enlightened" ones are only Republican for economic reasons. They could care less that I'm gay or whether someone has an abortion or whatever...for them, it's all about their own personal financial gain. They have investments in the oil and health care industries and life is peachy-keen for them (I view them as extremely self-absorbed and the antithesis of who I am as a person).
Then there are a few who vote Republican strictly on the issue of abortion.
Both groups still listen to Rush...
I donno Scott you too seem to be just absorbed in thr causes you deem have value,,,, the difference in you and the 'enlightened' ones are that your causes are 'different',,,
I haven't listened to Rush in a very long time,,,,
You still didn't talk about why you are upset about cross-over voiting from the Rs but not the Ds
SLATE:
"good cuz it's amusing that Rush told his Rs to return the cross over vote"
And a lot of good it did you. Obama appears to be winning the Texas caucus by a margin that will give him an overall 3-delegate lead over Hillary in the combined Texas primary-caucus system.
LOL

"Barack Obama regained lost ground in the fierce competition for Democratic convention delegates on Wednesday based on results from the Texas caucuses, partially negating the impact of Hillary Rodham Clinton's string of comeback primary victories."

"Give or take, Obama would get 37 delegates to Hillary's 30 delegates, netting Obama a 3 delegate advantage for the combined Texas prima-caucus."
I don't think there is such a thing. DEMS are not voting for McCain with the large turn out we have been getting in the dem race I find it hard to accept that I think that talk is just another spin by the right. I mean you could be telling the truth but you lie soo much on that side how can I know when you are telling the truth?
"You still didn't talk about why you are upset about cross-over voting from the Rs but not the Ds"
Apparently you haven't been keeping up with the news very well. All over the country, in primary after primary, dems (and repugs) are flooding the democratic primaries. The vote totals of the repug primaries are a fraction of the vote totals of the dem primaries. Common sense would tell you that precludes much if any cross-over voting from the dems. Most dems I know could care less who loses for the repugs in November.
There is ample evidence of rep crossover voting in large numbers in Texas, however. At the urging of screech radio talking heads, many repugs responded to the call to dirty tricks and dishonored themselves yet again. How else can you explain Hillery getting 51% of the popular vote to Obama's 47%, yet Obama gets an overwhelming 56% of the caucus votes?
Regardless, if dems played that dirty, I would be upset with them also.
I'm gonna make a prediction here...we'll see John Edwards endorse Barack Obama for President the week before the Pennsylvania primaries on April 22nd. It will send shock waves through the campaign and give Obama the edge. The next primary date after Pennsylvania will be May 6th: Indiana and North Carolina. After that, Obama will be unstoppable!
Yeah, but why do we (MSM) care about Wyoming when what we should be seeing is retractions of the story that Clinton won Texas?
I am waiting for the retraction also, but I doubt that it will come anytime soon. Though I would love to be proven wrong.
The Clinton's are controlling the message. Time magazine ran a feature that could have been written by the Clinton campaign. All I have been hearing is a lot of speculation about who will win, even though Hillery cannot catch Obama in the elected delegate count.
Obama wins 11 or 12 caucuses in a row, Hillery wins two out of four in one day (she DIDN'T win Texas), and suddenly she is the front runner offering the VP to Obama? Give me a break!!! She will have to run the table to even keep it respectably close, but it is mathematically impossible for her to win without some sort of subterfuge and treachery involving the super delegates, or a massive meltdown of Obama's campaign.
Where IS that retraction?
The final numbers from CNN shows Obama getting 61% of the popular vote and Clinton with 38% and 1% going uncommitted. A 7-4 split in favor of Obama for the delegates with the remaining pledged delegate being named in May. The final county to report last evening was Teton (Jackson Hole)it went for Obama 80% to 20%.
Now to Mississippi on Tuesday. Recent polling in the state shows Senator Obama up by anywhere from 12 to 20% percentage points in the state.
WHAT A COMEBACK!!!! Look at Senator Obama take the momentum back and stop the Clinton wave right in its tracks. What an amazing thing to have happen!!
Now, why isn't that the headline in today's papers like it was on Wednesday last? Isn't a win by more than 20% points a little more decisive than a win by a couple of points in a couple of states? I guess not.
Obama is a good man and will make a great president...someday. He will NOT win the general election in '08. He cannot hold water to McCain's experiance. That's why the repubs are licking their chops. Hilary can. She's a tough cookie and people will get behind her when it counts. The dems need to stop clubbing each other immediately and forge a Clinton/Obama ticket. That would be unstoppable. The primaaries are merely entertainment. The real show is in Novemeber and the dems need to start planning. That's what the republicans are doing and we simply cannot make the mistake of giving them 4 more years. We'll be broke and on our knees by then. We'll have less than zero respoct in the world, (cause now we have zero,) and be completely irrelevant as a power.
What kind of experience is the question. Do we want the kind of experience from Senators McCain and Clinton that has put us in this place? I think not. That's what we need to concern ourselves with.
As for a Clinton/Obama ticket, why do you think she's (and Bill) started trotting that out? She's doing it so that she can capitalize on the supposed lack of experience and to tell people that a vote for her is essentially a vote for Obama. Wrong answer. She's part of the Old Guard, just like McCain. Senator Obama isn't. We need the future not the past. Time to move on.
I am waiting for the MSM to report on Obama's victory in Texas. As it stands now, Obama will have won more delegates from Texas than Hillery.
She won the popular vote, but exit polls show over 10% of the dem votes were repugs. If they followed the directions of the right wing talking heads, they would not have admitted they were repugs at all. Result? No one knows how many repugs voted for Hillery just to booger up the dem primary. I know several hardcore repugs that voted for Hillery because Rush Limpjaw wanted them to.
When the polls closed and the dem caucuses began, the repugs were no longer a factor and Obama is winning handily at 56% to 44% with 41% of the precincts reporting.
Bottom line? As of now, Obama has 99 Texas delegates and Hillery has 91.
So where is the Obama wins Texas despite repug subterfuge headline?
Obama will never win ....hillary's followers will vote for McCain and the zard will win...
so don't get too excited there...
I do not know one single Hillary follower who would vote for McCain, even against Gravel..
How many do you know??
McCain will get the vast majority of conservative democrats and independents if Obama wins the primary which would pretty much hand the republicans the whitehouse for another four years.
So, let me get this straight..
What you're saying is that if Hillary got the nomination, SHE
would polarize the conservative Democrats AND the independents and that would only leave conservative republicans to vote for McCain??
Are you really saying that the entire Independent vote hinges
on Hillary, or it's lost??
Hmmmmm..
Is there even one poll to indicate that??
Or is it the bigot's poll?
Bigots are only independent for non-race related issues?
Here's a tip. Those who are not ready to vote for a black man are also never going to vote for a woman, and we'd better hope that America isn't THAT pathetic..(anymore)
What is the point? Where are the facts?

Clinton campaign to announce that this caucus "doesn't matter" in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
CLINTON CAMPAIGN:
This caucus doesn't matter. It was always our plan to lose here to make our eventual victory over Senator Obama even more amazing. Ignore the total destruction of my campaign over the last few weeks and that I won Texas and Ohio by single digit percentages when projected just a few weeks previously to win by double-digits. Its immaterial. We planned to do this just so this campaign could come out looking like Bill Clinton's on steroids... we shall steal the title of "Comeback Kid"!
WHY WON'T SHE JUST GO AWAY?!?
She's like the obnoxious party guest that just won't take the hint and stop munching all the left over dip and head home.
Her and her husband are now trying to play some kind of political Jedi Mind-Trick on Obama telling him... "You want to be vice-president to me, even though you're ahead... you want to be my flunky and bow and scrape to my every whim..."
So, if she does becomes president she'll be hated by all those who wanted Obama AND all those that wanted McGrumpy! In other words, she'll be the most hated president since... since.. George W. Bush!
I know she's an ego-maniacal, power-hungry, probably deranged individual, but haven't we already had that for seven years? Do we really need more? Haven't we suffered enough as a nation?
McGrumpy :)))
Lumpy McGrumpy
Careful. If you have any connections to the Obama campaign (were or are you a contributor?) then the MSM and Senator Clinton's campaign will try to connect your comments to Senator Obama.
Don't forget, she'll do ANYTHING to win, including lie, cheat and steal. Aren't we about tired of that kind of politics? I thought we might be, but what happened in Ohio and Texas tells me that we may not be.
Actually you can take Texas out of the discussion. After several days of counting the final result in Texas is a perfect tie in delegates. So much for the 10-20% difference that would be there weeks ago. All that is left is that sub 10% differential in Ohio that couldnt even get over 12 delegates. What will happen next is one of the same. They will split the primaries and Obama will take the caucuses. The end result will be a tie (at best for Clinton scenario) in the remaining delegates leaving intact the current >120 differential. Then we will start having discussions about Florida and Michigan until they finally redo them both (good luck with that ) at which point the 2 states will cancel each other in outcome and change nothing . The popular vote and delegate lead will remain with Obama amd then it will be finally over . Now why cant a true patriot if that were Clinton see all this in advance with all her so called wisdom and experience? Because she has neither.
Clinton made a major mistake the past 7 yrs. She avoided making clear that she was running but did everything in her power to position herself for it without risking anything in terms of opposing the majority opinion when it mattered. She didnt risk strongly opposing the Iraq war. She didnt protest with ferocity all the administartion's violations and abuses that destroyed international credibility of the US and undermined the economy. She didnt protest enough for what was been lost. She was engaged from a distance of safety. She did not present a future vision that would be inspiring. She didnt stand up and tell everyone that she is a different person that she is not out there to win one more for the family team, but she presents a radical change from all the men before. She failed to show how she being a woman would make a difference. This country is able to elect a woman but it has to be someone to look up to, to love and admire, someone with integrity that can unite not exploit.
I couldn't have said it better!
She should have ran a positive optimistic campaign. Instead personal attacks , nasty language and dirty tactics soon became the key methodology. You cant take an ad like the 3am one (drawn out for a machiavellian school)and show it to people to inspire fear. Its like telling a kid after i turn off the light the monster is out in the corridor waiting so you still need your mommy. You cannot patronize. Your integrity should never allow you to want to be president because some simple minded voter was afraid of selecting a younger , motivated , idealist as a result of your smear ad. The experience should be evident from making the right decisions from offering innovative solutions to crisis when it matters not from showing you can play the same old dirty uninspiring game. You cannot elevate your party opponent in order to undermine your own party primaries competitor. You cannot betray your cause that way. Why is McCain or Clinton more experienced? In what way are they more experienced?
Are they maybe experienced in Cynicism? In how to accept old status and never bravely risk innovation? You have to be able to show people you are better simply with facts and ideas not with fear tactics. She should instead press on her program , offer solutions to current problems, several examples of how she differs from what has taken place past 7yrs and why she would correct it. She obviously has such plans but she never made those plans the number one focus. Once she started dropping suddenly Obama had to become a black guy. Once she continued to not recover with strength he had to become the inexperienced black guy. Then she had to exploit the trial of that real estate deal guy from the past. An unrelated issue to anything had to be exploited and imply wrongdoings? With her own past? She behaves like Kenneth Star yet she accused her opponent for it. All those are vastly hypocritical engagements. She failed to show that she has a brave, good, idealistic and unifying heart.
How right are you! I think only with Obama the democratic party will be sure to win against Mac Cain, but not with Hillary. If she wins, then the American will choose Maccain, unfortunately, and the proof is that the republicans clearly prefer her as counterpart...why? It's even too clear...!!
It's times like these that i miss Ron Brown Dean is just a mascot. When bill ran Brown stop it once there wea a clear leader, she wins 3 states to his 13 and she is still in the race, they are shooting themselves in the foot here, all the poles show that Obama would beat McCain hands down but yet they continue this mess. Sometimes i want to give the DEMS a kick in the butt and wake them UP.
If we are looking for a woman President, we may have to wait a little longer! Hillary is not the one!
All she had done so far is basked in Bill's glory. Her personal character and integrity are on a French holiday, and what we have seen so far in her campaign so far has been a bitter and ugly face of "I, Me, My" form of narcissism.
If you listen to her, every other word she utters is "I" or "me" and sometimes "we" when she is talking about Bill and her.
We are tired of this type of selfish perpetuation of the Clinton dy"nasty".
No wonder people are tired of these dog and pony shows!
