Even if the US government is not willing to move on it's veiws atleast it is trying to meet with other countries to try to get it's own progressive views seen and initiated to improve the environment.

They're all going to be in my hometown tomorrow.
Maybe a couple days looking out over the world's most beautiful surf spots and breathtaking mountain ranges will wake them up.
If not, this might be a good time for a surgical strike on the Waikiki Sheraton Convention Center in the name of planetary survival.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
Those countries (like Netherlands, Sweden, etc.) which have acted unilaterally have seen tremendous economic growth from industries like alternative/renewable energy and other green industries.

Do you really think India and China are going to be willing to do anything??
Chief U.N. climate scientist Rajendra Pachauri, who shared last year's Nobel Peace Prize, said last month that he was "having nightmares" about the prospect of the low-cost car (Tata), reported The Associated Press.
AP reported that in 2005, Indian vehicles released 219 million tons of carbon dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas blamed for global warming
By 2035, that number is projected to increase to 1,467 million tons, due largely to the expanding middle-class and the expected rise of low-cost cars, according to the Asian Development Bank
Tata Nano expected to give tens of millions of Indians chance to own a vehicle

Doesn't look like they are too concerned to me

We know how slowly our individual governments move on issues - imagine herding all these cats and getting things done in a meeting or three? It's a wonder this many countries can ever unanimously agree on anything.
This could be interesting, both for what the major countries say and what they do not.

The Keyoto treaty is a joke, China will fly right past the other industrial countries as the world supper polluter and everyone wants us to pay for it. I think I will take my 10 mpg truck out for a nice ride this weekend just for fun. When China cleans up it's coal plants, of which they have one on every street corner I will by a hybred
