After bagging both an Oscar and an Emmy, Al Gore hit the trifecta with the Nobel Prize--and our membership responded in spades. Other big stories concerned Rush Limbaugh, a freaky-looking worm with tentacles, a staph epidemic, and the mugging of Randi Rhodes (or did she just stub her toe?).

I agree and applaud James for his writing style. It is a fun read, James. You may want to change the opening line, though, to:

"After bagging both an Oscar and an Emmy but not an intern..."

You're an outstanding guy! May be Presidential material.

Can you fix Propeller? I mean the technical bugs, otherwise I like it.

It's fun to read these "Week in Review" pieces, James, and I'm flattered one of my submissions made it in.

But maybe I should have posted a different summary in the "Gore Derangement Syndrome" article--it was a New York Times op-ed by Paul Krugman arguing *against* those like Iain Murray at the National Review who link Gore with Osama because they both mention climate change...

                Rush is a hypocryte!

                1) He is a pill popping drug addict, like all those he has mocked in the past.

                2) A REAL CONSERVATIVE opposes abortion AND sending our soldiers and marines to their death in a civil war in Iraq.

                3) A REAL CONSERVATIVE would make Iraq pay for its own re-building, not the US taxpayers....ONE TRILLION DOLLARS of taxpayer dollars.

                4) A REAL CONSERVATIVE would not support Ann COulter in her disgraceful trampy outfits. What kind of Christian Conservative dresses like a street walker???

ultraconservative - I applaud you. It is not often that I agree with and praise a conservative opinion. I have said in the past that there should never be a monopoly of ideas or an accumulation of absolute power for either Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberal. Both schools of ideas and philosophies have worthy contributions to our country. I hope to see more of your posts to read your ideas.

Another week of distractive trivia in which Marcus chooses to "highlight" the trivia in a "summary". Pathetic at a time when serfdom is growing in the US.

                    Priests Protesting Torture Jailed

... Louis Vitale, 75, a Franciscan priest, and Steve Kelly, 58, a Jesuit priest, were each sentenced to five months in federal prison for attempting to deliver a letter opposing the teaching of torture at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. Both priests were taken directly into jail from the courtroom after sentencing...

They went to jail for trespassing on to federal property. Couldn't they afford the postage?

I miss several stories during the course of the week due to a conflict of interest (work). Thank you Mr. Marcus for the informative recap. I like your writing style and hope you keep on with the review.
