You know it's going to be a very interesting week when
You turn on the computer and the headlines read
ROVE RESIGNS!!!!
I thought the site had been hacked, or I was still dreaming.
When I read that he wanted to spend more time w/ his wife...not for nothing, but,Have you seen his his wife?
My guess is that something is going down and he has to leave in order to what??? What could be the reasons behind his resignation?
Corruption Charges
BushCo is going to start another war, and Rove's going into Cheney's Bunker
Someone has pics of rove dressed in leather /blackmail
He's on his way to Paraguay
Gonzo will no longer be at the WH and won't be able to protect anyone so he's getting out of dodge
FBI Investigation? SEC Investigation? Indictments to come? Hmmm
In any event, the reasons will prove more compelling than actual resignation for reasons that may effect all of us. I think that made sense:-)
Bush CO Empire begins to rip apart at the seams. OH HAPPY MONDAY

I don't think he's the rat desserting the sinking ship. I think he and Bush knows they had done all the damage that they could do, and he is leaving in time for the repugs to attempt to regroup before the 2008 elections.
You have to give it to those crafty SOB's, they know when to hold em and when to fold em. It was time for Rove to go, he had done what he came there to do, there is only a matter of months left for the repugs and they are trying to get back into the good graces of the Christian Cons.
IMO!!!

As far as leaving before the SHTF...yeah, he kinda has to. I don't believe Hitlary will let him be involved in her administration that will bring chaos to the masses.

"I don't believe Hitlary" - aren't you getting overly agitated?
BTW an earlier version of this story, courtest of the BBC and Aidenag, is running at: http://politics.netscape.com/story/2007/08/13/t...

djrevelky----"I don't believe Hitlary will let him be involved in her administration that will bring chaos to the masses".
Well, lest you misinterpret, Bush's administration has brought about the chaos that you seem to fear but don't seem to recognize. Rove has been a major, major part of that. Hopefully by the 2008 election Rove will be in prison. However, it will take a generation to undo the mess that your fearless leader has created.

He is one person that I would not mind leaving-Washington, DC, Texas, Country, this planet!
His mentor, Lee Atwater, cried on his deathbed: "I am sorry for all the mean and bad things I did , and I ask for forgiveness!" (I am paraphrasing here!)
That after character assassination of several people, including Michael Dukakis, and playing dirtiest of dirty politics for his then boss, George HW Bush!
Like his father, Dumbya inherited Atwater's protege' and all his dirty tricks with Karl Rove! He is the root of the evil for the past 7 1/2 years (I am including the '00 elections)and responsible for tearing this wonderful country of ours apart and turning friends into enemies!
He has no soul and he has nothing else either.
I hope his wife does not get the same abuse as he has heaped up on our country.
Good riddance, Carl, hope we never see you or your likes again! I hope Congress finds something serious on this sleazebag to put him away for the rest of his life!

I heard the reason he is leaving is that "The Dick" ask him to go hunting down in Texas.

"That after character assassination of several people, including Michael Dukakis"
Sorry, Dukakis' stunt in the tank is what sunk him. The comparison of that against a guy who was the youngest US fighter pilot in the Pacific in WW2 (George H.W. Bush) was just too much. Bill Clinton was smart enough not to try something that ignorant.

OH No folks ...this is another strategical move by the GOP E Ring (Group 41). It's a move to place Rove in position to steer the 08 Elections!
In order to keep an eye out on this criminal dirtbag, the DNC needs to assign a group of individuals to track the whereabouts & doings of KR ...24/7!!!
Then once the Democrats take over the Presidency, they need to throw this douchebag into prison and throw the key away.

yep!
That will give some "comfort" to the homesick boys there!
I would suggest that he takes some "soap on the rope" to avoid shower-room "accidents!"
lol!

I noticed that msaleem sank your story, and posted a story on the same subject.
I commented on that on his post, and I am repeating it here for the benefit of others:

msaleem,
I noticed that you sank a story on the same subject posted by
insideoutgraphics, and now you are posting this story!
Sounds a little less than honest to me!
Considering that you are one of the Navigators, this really gives a bad flavor!
I am sure you have some excuse/exp... for this. If you do, I would like to read it.

Can the bastard still claim "Executive Privilege" once he is no longer a member of the Administration? What ever happens from now on I just hope the DNC uses Rovian tactics against him and whoever may want to hire him for 'o8. He needs to be nailed to the wall. All of his lies need to be exposed. We can't turn the clock back but we can keep him from doing more damage in the future.

I'm glad the old rascal is gone too, he is the king of crooks, but....... This has all been very stratigically mapped out. IMO, this was the plan all along. They were going to do all the damage they could, pocket all the money they could, then the worst of the demons were going to be gone, (except Bush and Cheney) before the 2008 elections.
Then we have the matter of the missing emails, and the Gonzi issue. They had to do something! Anything to get back into the good graces of the Christian Cons.

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood:-) But we also must figure WHY he's resigned. Because it really cannot be for wanting to spend time w/ his family. Politics is his family and if he's resigning from his real family, then there has to be a damn good reason and Rove seldom makes moves w/o critical calculations, that are gainful for him.
Lets see, voter fraud/intimidation,tactics
Obstruction of Justice
Someone has something on him which will be coming out soon? Just a guess.
I wonder what his resignation is related to. Which committee ?
Questions questions and more questions. Inquiring minds NEED TO KNOW
BUH BYE KARL....you BAST$$D , Do Not Pass Go Go Directly to Jail.....which GWB will pardon anyway...but we need to look at all of the data that surrounds KARL the SNARL. Then link all dots and see what was the straw that broke that camel's arse. Or what he is running from anyway. Time will tell I suppose.
But it is a good day so lets enjoy it.
OMG What if he enters the race?

Just had a thought. OK Karl resigns for a flimsy reason. Well Rumsfeld left but he still is an intracle part of the Bush/Cheny team, without over site or intrusion from any branch of gov. So maybe, Rove will be now in a safe place to continue the usual calls.
Because I really cannot believe for a moment that Rove will roll over and be out of the picture. This is an election cycle. So he gets to do his dirty work w/o any over site. He's free from the public eye and goes behind the scenes to finish up business.
OK I'm just trying to figure out why he made this move. It cannot be just to jump ship, because Rove was an instrumental architect of that ship.
So my answer is, He's still going to be in power but behind the scenes. And it's corruption as usual.
Anyone wanna take bets:-)

Can I water board him? Please! Ahh, forget it, he would probably enjoy it too much anyway.
However, plopping him down into Baghdad w/o any mil. cover would sort of be a fun thing to see. Call it the last surge? Then using a blow horn to let everyone know that the Beagle has Landed and he's dressed only in Adult Daytime Diaper:-)Which ought to out last its usefulness in about a sec.

May I elaborate on the "plopping him down into Baghdad" aspect. Rove's great trait is impunity, the man has to carve a universe of impunity about himself. Notice, since he prays to his god for guidance and goals in doubt, his impunity could be a natural component of any woeful experience he has for hacking at the common sense of our freedom and the integrity of federal government. Why not put him in a bullet proof bubble when he gets plopped down ... a nice thick clear sphere which the upset Iraqi masses would no doubt taunt in your imagination. Peasants concerned about survival needs and bureaucrats concerned about maximization of their extractions from the masses could vent in their "Rove in a Bubble" celebration. Any firing at him would be prevented from doing any more than startle him for those poor folk with stones and small calibers, whereas the well off could use something real big so bubble boy takes flight ... only to return as an undamaged witness to rage.
