BOGOTA, Colombia - Cocaine prices in the United States have dropped and the drug's purity increased, despite years of effort and nearly $5 billion spent by the U.S. government to combat Colombia's drug industry, the White House drug czar acknowledged in a letter to a key senator.

    Ever larger confiscations, trumpeted as 'suceess', are all signs of more failure in the 'War on Drugs' - it just means that the cartels are willing to lose larger shipments. Rooms full of cash only means that their cash flow is even bigger than their money laundering operations.

    And unless all the economists finally want to admit that their theories have the same basis in reality as fairies and trolls, falling prices means the supply is exceeding the demand.

    Does anyone want to claim that demand is falling?
