Credit Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally with saving the leader of the free world from self-immolation. Mulally told journalists at the New York auto show that he intervened to prevent President Bush from plugging an electrical cord into the hydrogen tank of Ford's hydrogen-electric plug-in hybrid at the White House last week.

Talk about the grand-daddy of Darwin Awards. Bush wouldn't have intervened. He would have just stood their snickering like a chimp. This would have been the all time #1 Winner. Finally, his family could claim he was succesful at something. DOH!

R U kidding obviously he's too technically challenged. Since he didn't realise what he was doing how could he have known to stop someone else. DOH!

We elected a business major with a C average.

I was surprised when I first heard this story Saturday on a local Los Angeles radio station, 4-5 days after it happened. Why hasn't it been covered by the American mainstream broadcast media (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc.) and print media (New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, USA Today, etc.)? Surely, even superfluous Fox News would exploit this incident with their vapid conservative political pundits commentaries about liberal conspiracies.

Perhaps this story isn't making headlines because the American public has finally 'tuned out' this president and his failed administration. This near fatal blunder is simply the latest in a long string of gaffes, lies and mishaps from a man who is perhaps the worst U.S. President ever and the biggest maniacal moron to ever occupy the White House! His term cannot end soon enough!

Sigh.. I guess Mulally was acting out of self preservation. Personally, I would have been running the other way.

Nice going Dubya... but then what did we expect.

We are sure that he had NO idea about electricity, hydrogen and the properties of either. Let alone what could happen if one were to attempt introducing the two. One less chimp?

"How may chimps does it take to plug in a lamp?"

A: 1. As long as he has the help of another, or 1 CEO or several secret service agents.

Lucky the moron didnt blow himself and other up!

              peace~

The comments here show just how ignorant you people are, nowhere in the story did it say that Bush tried to plug the cord into the hydrogen tank. Even if he did you should know that an electrical cord would not fit in the fill valve of a hydrogen tank.

"you people"... that must extend to the CEO of Ford then as he acted to prevent.

                  peace~

You're right MM....he was just trying to plug the electrical wire into the wallsocket and then stick his fingers on the other hand into those fill valves...
