"Tower 7 housed the city's emergency command center, so there were a number of fuel tanks located throughout the building-including two 6000-gal. tanks in the basement that fed some generators in the building by pressurized lines. "Our working hypothesis is that this pressurized line was supplying fuel [to the fire] for a long period of time," according to Sunder. Steel melts at about 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit-but it loses strength at temperatures as low as 400 F. When temperatures break 1000 degrees F, steel loses nearly 50 percent of its strength. It is unknown what temperatures were reached inside WTC7, but fires in the building raged for seven hours before the collapse."

    'Nuff said.

Rosie clearly knows nothing about how fire affects steel buildings. Steel structures are often the quickest to collapse in a fire, quicker even than wooden structures. Many firefighters have died in steel framed buildings because the building collapsed before it was expected to.

      "Our working hypothesis..."

      That's the key phrase.

This isn't even a theory yet let alone proof that fire caused WTC7 to collapse.

Oh for the love of, stop giving Rosie a hard time just cuz she munches rugs. She is not the first person to remark about this. From the evidence I have seen from both sides, I believe it was planned. It was just too neat, regardless of how hot the frikin fires were.

This current (Bush) administration has done nothing but lie. Tired of it. The most self centered bunch of yo yos I have aver seen. I for one am glad these Republicans are OUIT OF THERE!

As somewhat of a "News and Information" purveyor, I feel Rosie has a responsibility to do a little research before she goes off on a tirade like this most recent one. Did she read a single article explaining why the tower couldn't have been demo-ed? Did she look into the physics of steel at all? Did she phone any of these Harvard or Yale experts she demanded owed answers, and ask them a few simple questions? Did she look online, or purchase and read any of the "Debunking 9/11 Myths" books and articles? There is no excuse for her being so uneducated on the subject. It's one thing to spout that kind of stuff in a stand-up routine, it's another to present it in the forum she did.

Perhaps she did. Why don't you call her and ask before pulling things out of your "you know where."

If you hold the 9/11 Commission and FEMA / NIST in such high regard, then please explain the following points...

Like the complete omission of WTC7 from the 9/11 Commission Report, here's a few other bits to chew on... and there are many more.

          1) FEMA, then NIST in more than 5 years have failed to give an official explanation for WTC7's 47 storey complete collapse into it's own footprint in 6.5 seconds, not damaging buildings only a few feet away (akin to aims of controlled demolition).

          2) NIST's failure to report has resulted in them having to outsource to a third party (ARA) to concoct a reason for it's collapse, only took them 5 years to conclude that they were unable to... such expertise.

          3) If it was common knowledge that WTC7 had to collapse (reported collapsed by the BBC 20 mins before it did), then why were members of the NYPD (Craig Bartmer and his saviors) nearly crushed when it did...

You should do a bit of research yourself, instead of being a cheerleading puppet for the Bush administration.

Rosie is abrasive in her approach and i think that Barbara Walters made a grave mistake when she supported the firing of Star Jones in favor of hiring Rosie. She is loud and crass, and lacks taste!

She's lacking in a lot more than the knowledge of how to melt steel.

Rosie should be commended for speaking out. Most Americans are afraid to speak out and ask questions, whether they have supporting evidence is not determined. What course is our country on when people are afraid to speak their mind?

Tcaros, I am a democrat, very liberal!! But Rosie is not the best person to sell our politics on the market. She is too 'in your face'. She is not the person i would want to advocate the way i feel about my politics, i have more class than that. I want a class act to get out there and expose the Bush administration, and i don't think that person is Rosie. Not many people really even take her seriously.

Rosie can continue to speak out. I actually enjoy seeing her make a fool of herself in an obvious desparate attempt to increase ratings for that "hen party" they call The View.

If you'll notice, about twice a week, Ms. O'Donnell generates press by issuing a non-sensical statement about something totally foreign to her field...(comedy?) As Dean Winter explained to John Belushi in the movie ANIMAL HOUSE: "..Son, It's ashamed to go through life Fat and Stupid!"

How can Rosie be commended when she talks something she has no knowledge about. She lies about 911 but the worst part of it is that she believes in her own lies. What an idiot.

Rosie appears to represent these mistruths and lies to help her show. Not Barbara Walter's show, but "her show." Based on her negative comments and perceived negative self-image, Rosie continues to show her disatisfaction in her personal appearance, her husky, manly looks and her feminine self-image regularly. Considering the frequency of these events, Rosie may be evidencing bi-polar disorder, or severe depression, warranting intervention.

I find it incredible that an entertainer with notarity as a "jester," would be considered space for comments, after the incredulous statements she made. I suspect these latest comments are in response to some personal downturn in her relationship with her female partner. I suggest that she chooses to create these inflamatory and negative comments as a coping mechanism toward a personal desire for recognition, regardless of their substance or accuracy.

Should Barbara Walters ever decide to remove this "jester" from the show, I believe we would soon see an obituary about her suicide. The self-destructive comments, and obivious inaccuracies are demonstrating personal anger towards herself, and at an exceptionally high level! I suggest she be placed on a suicide watch soon. I hope she has some friends somewhere that can help her. She should be removed from T.V. long enough to detoxify her self-image and help her to re-enter society with greater stability.

I am constantly amazed at the types of people that are on this board. I am getting the feeling that they are in general terms, anti-bush anti-christian far left idiots. I don't mind the anti-bust anti-christian or even far left part, its the idiots that are starting to annoy me.

                      "...anti-bush anti-christian far left idiots."

Wow, that ruins the credibility of your post...

                      Let's see...

Anti-Bush...is that anything like anti-Clinton or anti-Carter? Is one required to love, fawn over and idolize Bush to be a member of your America? If Bush fails or exposes his incompetence (Katrina, 9-11, Iraq, Bin Laden hunt, Taliban in Afganistan), is it not okay, as his EMPLOYER to criticize his conduct? Or is Bush Sacred and Holy?

Anti-Christian? Get real! Are you suggesting that the Republican Party, or more specifically, the admittedly pro-fascist (corporatist) splinter branch of Neo-Cons are, with their abject worship of Mammon, the party of Christ? Ah, yes...Jesus must just loves the way children scream when white phospherous melts the flesh off their arms as our great War Leader (historic coward) drops bombs to help secure even greater resources for Mammon.

                      Sick logic, sir.

As for the 'left'? Does this Nation not NEED balance?

I dare you to deny that.
