Tell me again how this is such a good thing?

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Yep. The surge is already working. Fewer and fewer Iraqis to stand between us and all that oil.

Im not picking on you ET, but I would like this to be somewhere it will be read.

Every liberal on here is going to jump all over me, because I am the enemy. Not the person with the grenades and submachine guns in their living room, while their children starve, but the person who wants to stop them from killing.

Al Qaeda is in Iraq, and always has been, there is no question about that. There have been many mistakes along the way for this quest for a better world, but I have only seen efforts being made to fulfill this idea by one party.

I am firmly against the 2 party system, but I do want to live in a safer world.

It is impossible for all Americans, ("Infidels" as we are slandered, the Muslim equivalent for "******") to leave all Muslim territories.

If we try to pull out, everyone left behind is subject to murder. We cannot allow any religion to say that we are not allowed to set foot in half the world, because very soon afterwards, half won't be enough.

I am voting for this story because I feel it shows the desperate need for change. The bomb was not set by Americans as many feel that we are responsible. But it does show how desperate and horrendous our enemies have become.

Many people still think that this war is all about oil, but if it were, why are we still paying almost triple the amount from when this war started?

If you are wondering what the edited word is from the above statement I made, I did not say it to degrade anyone, but to let you know how it is used, the edited word is "En Eye Gee Gee Eee Are" But apparently the Muslim equivalent is quite acceptable, "Infidel" but the common black reference between themselves is not.

Ya, that is real Politically Correct Netscape.

No. The INVASION was about oil. And WE are paying 3x while the oil co's rake in record profits.

>>Al Qaeda is in Iraq, and always has been, there is no question about that.

Hate to tell you this, but EVERY investigation shows that there was NO link between Iraq & Al Quaeda. Well, except for the Bush family & the assassins OBL & Saddam sent to kill each other. And some of these investigations were led by the REPUBLICAN-led congress.

>>It is impossible for all Americans, ("Infidels" as we are slandered, the Muslim equivalent for "******") to leave all Muslim territories.

1st, if you don't realize the diff btwn Nigg** & Infidel, you're beyond hope. Infidel refers to ANYONE who does not believe in a specific faith & has been around for almost 600 years (look in a dictionary or dictionary.com). The other is SPECIFICALLY a derogatory word meant to deride mostly blacks.

And I seriously doubt anyone is demanding that ALL Americans leave EVERY Muslim land, but the MILITARY OCCUPATION of that land.

OK jerk, you may be too stupid to be insulted when someone calls you an infidel, you obviously dont know what it means. You could be called a Christian, or an American, both reasons that can get you killed, but no... they call you an Infidel.

Do you know why? it is because it is an insult, a derogatory word that is meant to place a person below the person using it. So it is not any different than a white person using the "N" word.

"Infidel", From the word "Fidelity", unfaithful, a cheater, a person of low value, morally bankrupt, a traitor.

Maybe this isnt insulting to you, but I dont feel I deserve to be judged and degraded.

Apparently you are saying is that you would feel quite comfortable staying and doing business just as hundreds of people all over the world are forced to do in Muslim territories, even after the US pulled out.

As much as I think you are being foolish, I wouldn't want you to try it, because even your life means something to me.

If you look it up in http://www.dictionary.com, you'll see

1.Religion.

a. a person who does not accept a particular faith, esp. Christianity.

b.(in Christian use) an unbeliever, esp. a Muslim.

c.(in Muslim use) a person who does not accept the Islamic faith; kaffir.

2.a person who has no religious faith; unbeliever.

3.(loosely) a person who disbelieves or doubts a particular theory, belief, creed, etc.; skeptic.

-adjective

4.not accepting a particular faith, esp. Christianity or Islam; heathen.

5.without religious faith.

6.due to or manifesting unbelief: infidel ideas.

7.rejecting the Christian religion while accepting no other; not believing in the Bible or any Christian divine revelation.

8.Also, in·fi·del·ic /Ë;ɪnfɪË;dÉ;lɪk/ of, pertaining to, or characteristic of unbelievers or infidels.

avatar

So, it basically means someone who doesn't believe the same as the person using the word.

And I appreciate that my life means something to you, even tho you start out by calling me a jerk.

And, yes, people from ALL over the world do business in Muslim lands. When we're not occupying their land, they're not overly angry w/us - unless we keep screaming that they're part of the "Axis of Evil" every day for 4 years.

The word Ni33er was listed in the dictionary as a non-derogatory name for longer than it has been listed as a derogatory name, but it is, and just because everyone is terrified of making them angry, I am not and I will not tolerate being called a cheater or traitor, which is so incredibly simple, Fidelity, NonFidelity, Faithful, Unfaithful, Muslim, Infidel.

So that would explain the Nun having her head cut completely from her body.

Trust me, ask any Muslim if the term infidel would be insulting to them. Just make sure there is bulletproof glass in between you when you call them that.

What I found says:

"1786, earlier neger (1568, Scot. and northern England dialect), from Fr. nègre, from Sp. negro (see Negro). From the earliest usage it was "the term that carries with it all the obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on blacks" [cited in Gowers, 1965]. "

It goes on to say that "black inferiority was at one time a near universal assumption in Eng.-speaking lands, the word in some cases could be used without insult." I guess that would be like using the word "Sp$ck" or "Ch$nk" as endearments.

As to someone cutting the nun's head, ANYONE from ANY religion can pervert that religion. Kind of like when Christians burned heretics at the stake. Or the good Christian Klansmen lynching blacks & black sympathizers.

Note that "Infidel" was used for non-Christians AS WELL AS non-Muslims.

avatar
Reply

Obviously from a NEW dictionary.

Klansmen are still hunted and are still being convicted and punished for crimes committed 40 years ago.

When is the last time you saw a Christian burn anyone? Is this still Medieval Times?

That is right, Christians, Non-Christians, Non-Muslims are all equally despised. If it meant someone of no faith, it wouldn't apply to anyone of any other religion would it?

Trust me, it is the greatest insult you can sling at a Muslim.

What if the definition of a fa&&ot was listed as a stick of wood in the dictionary, it is BTW, would you be ok if someone called you that?

It another example of The Religion of Peace at work. They blow up Shiia because they aren't "real" Muslims.

The good news is that we can be sure that the Peaceful Believers will never attack us. So if we just leave them alone, all will be fine.

P.S. We may have to convert too but that's just a small detail and it won't be necessary until after the 08 election.

Lol...that's a good one. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The chief strategist of George W. Bush's 2004 re-election campaign said he had lost faith in the U.S. president over Iraq and other issues, in a high-level rupture of Bush's famously loyal inner circle.

Matthew Dowd, a polling expert who switched parties to become a Republican and also served as a senior strategist in Bush's 2000 presidential campaign, told The New York Times in an interview on Sunday that Bush must face up to Americans' growing disillusionment with the war.

I think that should read, "Bush must face up to America's short attention span with the war"

Television has created a mass of little children who get bored or even sick of any subjuct no matter how tradgic or important very quickly.

"Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki called for restraint on Friday, urging Iraqis not to allow themselves to be divided by "evildoers"."

This leader is weak and suspect. Is he really trying to stop the fighting because I haven't read anything where he has held the vigilante police group accountable.

They had better figure out that al Qaeda is the real enemy and that Iraqi Sunnis and Shiia need to band together to get the fanatics out of their country if they even want to have a country.

Do not fear. The surge is working. This is only one event that needs to be taken into the context of the many thousands of events that did not occur. (Do I get a job as a speach writer?)

Did the surge stop the attack? They need you help and support so join the army and give them a hand.

The presence of Al qaeda has only been significant as a RESULT of the Bush's fiasco. Prior to the invasion, there was no REAL evidence for an Al qaeda's presence on Saddam's turf.

Can anyone here explain what the mission is now and how this brilliant new strategy will accomplish it? As explained so far it looks to this observer like a textbook way to fight fire with fire and exacerbate the Civil War.

We are told in the article:

"Before leaving Iraq last Monday at the end of his assignment, U.S. ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad said U.S. and Iraqi officials had held contacts with Sunni Arab insurgent groups to build an alliance against al Qaeda."

It has became clear that during Saddam's rule there was in fact no Al Quaeda presence. Where is the factual evidence NOW that there is any Al Quaeda involvement? And if Al Quaeda is attacking Shiites why would the Sunnis be persuaded to attack Al Quaeda?? It seems more likely that lending support to the Sunnis will provide them with more resources with which to attack Shiites.

avatar
Reply

No, I can't explain what the mission is now, but then again neither can Dubya.

That's the only excuse for staying there; "terrrists". If we don't stay, they'll come here! Be afraid, be very afraid! Now hush, don't be asking for 'evidence.'

while I doubt Al Qaeda will be able to come in droves to american soil for a fight or attack I am concerned about the future of Iraq since we have invested LOTS of time money material and LIVES...and to be honest you should be concerned about that country too.

I wouldn't want to think you're assuming I'm NOT concerned about that country. My disgust and contempt for what Congress and Bush have done, doesn't blind me to the scenario we've created. The Saudi's can't have Shiites in control of the worlds second largest oil reserve, not to mention the religious hatred between them. They sure don't want an allegiance between Iran and Iraq. Middle Eastern Sunni's are nervous, and where once Shiites were pretty well contained, now they're a threat. Oil & religious domination...how do we fix that? We don't make this mess about US, and admit it's a ME problem that requires @ a minimum, a diplomatic approach. But will bush sit down with the different factions? Nope.

avatar
Reply

OF COURSE we have a responsibility to Iraq. My contention is how we've assumed that responsibility. And trying to make me think that al qaeda is rounded up there and keeping me safe, isn't going to cut it with me. Telling me that Iran is the cause of all the insurgency, isn't going to cut it with me. Ignoring the Saudi role in the insurgency isn't going to cut it with me. Making this a black and white issue, isn't going to cut it with me.

They didn't condone this invasion. They voted on a bill requiring W to exhaust ALL diplomatic avenues. It turned out his idea of diplomacy was to tell the world that he was invading no matter what they thought.

Hey suck - do you still think the people of Iraq are better off under US rule than they were under Saddam?

Saddam was bad, no question. He was bad when we were arming him. But what they have now is even worse.

you are frigging nuts.. so far about 700K people have lost their lives in iraq.. and saddam was on trial for killing what, 20K because they tried to kill him? not to mention the fact that the US put the kurds up to it in the first place then backed away from their promise to support them..

Bush is a moron for going to war.. 9/11 was a made in america attack.. this whole thing is a nightmare in which 1/2 of america has bought into.. the other half have a brain..

((saddam was on trial for killing what, 20K because they tried to kill him?))

so it's ok to kill thousands if someone attempts your life? I'll remember that if I get into a bar room knife fight- I will have license to murder 20K people plus.

The 2nd civil war will not be dems vs reps or even christian vs muslim, it will be about the very rich versus the rest of us.

And the revolution will be televised.

And I say, let it happen in the US, at least then we will have a tangible enemy, a tangible goal.

What are we fighting for? Why are we fighting?

Consider, before you answer, wether your answer could be applied in a large number of other countries. Becuase if it can then the inevitable response will be, why isn't the war there?

>>wait until it happens in the USA it's only a matter of time! A second US civil war; Rep Vs Dem, Christian Vs Muslim....

Alright. This is just STOOOOOpid. You're saying that all Dems are Muslim & that the Muslims living peacefully in this country for DECADES will attack our gov't. If you'd take the time to look, you'll note that:

1) Most of the Dems I know ARE Christian

2) MOST of the Muslims in the US are African-Americans (42%), almost 2x the next group (S. Asians @ 24%). Arabs only make up 12% (see http://www.islam101.com/history/population2_usa...
