"What we need to do is appreciate," Kahale said after getting the keys to her new house. "As fast as we got it, it could disappear."

They only need pay utility bills? Nothing else? So he's giving them house, paying property tax, paying for insurance, and giving them option to sell? Hmm..

Heh heh...this guy is shrewd! If the prop. values go down, he can always buy more, and cheaper!
Excellent market manipulation!

Stoners...did you even read the story? He is "looking at the negative" as you say based on this man's history. He has a laundry list of people he has evicted over the years on very short notice. This is nothing more than a publicity ploy along with an ingenious way to lower property values so that he may snap more property up later.
These people will be killing themselves just to pay the utility bills. Plus, the title is misleading....he didnt "give" the houses to anyone. He is "loaning" them to these people only to take them back when it fits his needs.
If he gave them away I would be VERY impressed and have nothing bad to say about the guy as the new owners could just sell them and keep the money.
