I lived in Florida for years. It is a hurricane state-not a tornado state.
People should re-consider the trailor. They are not strong enough to withstand all of the storms. They are not cheap to own.
The gov. wants volunteers because all of the money is in Iraq.
Will they let the DRs come from Cuba to help??
I still think all of the storms are because of bombs being dropped for war.

Florida is the best place to live in America. I live in Ocala, the sweetest, most livable city in America.

There is something so ironic about seeing the utter devastation, loss of at least 20 lives and so many other lives that are now disrupted. Yet just a few hours south of this area there are people partying as if there is no tomarrow and spending exhorbitant amounts on hotel, game tickets, tickets to various special parties and $10 beers.
I hope that they have a donation spot at the Superbowl so that some of these baccanalian revelers can donate some $$$ to help the people rebuild their lives.

I lived in leesburg fl from 1987 to 2004, which is about 3 miles from Lady Lake where a lot of the storm damage was. After my family and I left in 04 the hurricanes hit and now tornadoes. To my brother-in-law and all the friends I worked with at harbour hills golf course in lady lake my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Friday's storms were reminiscent of past tornados during years where El Nino was a weather factor, as it was again in this case, said state meteorologist Ben Nelson
In February 1998, five twisters hit near Orlando over two days, killing 42 people and damaging or destroying about 2,600 homes and businesses. It was Florida's deadliest tornado event on record

maybe i'm nieve, but last time I checked, people don't control the weather and storms, G-d does!!! How in the world can you hold a person or people responsible for a tornado?!

What I don't understand is why this area hasn't been rebuilt yet. We know the federal government is responsible to replace and improve whatever losses are sustained during a natural disaster. Where are the $2000 debit cards, the free housing, food, medical, and all of the other items that these people need to survive. I am wainting for the videos of these victims rushing out of stores with the basics of survival needed, ie. big screen T V's, Stereos, and other basics. Bush must also hate this area as I don't recall him rushing down there, like he didn't rush down to Louisiana. And FEMA, didn't hear a thing about them. Could it be that maybe this community has a group of people that have strong wills, and a determination to survive, and are not waiting for someone to do for them what they are capable of doing themselves?

Evelyna please turn down the condecention.. I live in a nice trailer park in Florida by choice ( it's far cheaper than $900 a month for an apt. ) If you check the news stories you'll see that nice 3 bedroom homes were destroyed as well. I understood when I moved here that Fla weather can be volatle as well as pleasant. If my trailer is destroyed I would be greatful for any help the Govenment could offer.... But They don't OWE me anything

I woke up when the storm went overhead.. the lightning actually woke me.. I was thinking where was the thunder.. seemed real eerie.. when i stopped and realized that there was constant thunder!! that's why i didn't hear it!! the tornado warning was over at 1am and the tornadoes didn't hit until after 3am.. very, very scary.. i wish we had the alarms that sound when a tornado has touched down!! The hail was horrible too!!! sounded like someone was throwing softballs on the roof!! couldn't really fall back asleep after that!!

Will they get better treatment and aid than Katrina victims ????? I bet they do

Not too much money left after the Katrina aide. Maybe Bush will build them all houses.
He will probablly build a shopping center or mall and just forget about the people. Not a foreign interest.
