Starbucks being very responsible! It announced today that the average price for all its coffee was $1.42 in fiscal year 2006, industry avg. was only was $1.04 per pound. Why the premium? Because most of the coffee was actually purchased through its independently verified coffee sourcing and purchasing guidelines, known as C.A.F.E.
