In the tony town of Greenwich Connecticut, the Greenwich Boat & Yacht Club offers those without yachts a place to hang out.. Many of those who pay the $100 fee to join and annual $100 fee after that don't own a boat or even know how to sail.

    These people are out of their minds. They hope thier "quaint" appeal will bring in new members who will paint and clean and take care of the place, plus footing the bill so the old-timers don't have to. But really they're a cranky bunch who want nothing to change, who refuse to have any fun things going on there and good luck getting a slip for your boat--the waiting list is over 30 years long! $100 for a year's membership is a waste of money.
